jmc’s 2019 Recap, Plus 5 Goals for 2020

jmc had much to celebrate in 2019. We updated our website, debuted a new weekly webinar schedule, and had a blast with friends, clients, and colleagues at our annual summer conference

As we move forward with plans for 2020, we asked our team members and clients to share their favorite jmc innovations from 2019.

Here’s what they had to say: 

“I've incorporated the Message Center into my workflow to make calls to parents of absent students. This one addition has saved me so much time and frustration. It’s also improved absence reporting by parents—they get that call, and they call back, usually with an apology. It’s an easy reminder for them, and it frees up the time I spent dialing, waiting for an answer, and leaving a message.”

2020 is already shaping up to be even more exciting than last year. Among other goals, we’re pushing ourselves to 

  • Build more time-saving tools and integrations. Our mobile Family App will be released soon, and we’re adding Google Classroom to the growing list of third-party programs jmc can integrate with. 
  • Actively solicit product feedback. “Today's schools are exploring new and creative approaches to preparing young minds for the future,” explains jmc development specialist Jeff Post. “Our new UserVoice feedback tool gives the jmc community a seat in our boardroom. Through listening to our clients, our ability to innovate will accelerate to meet the needs of all the educators we proudly support.”
  • Offer additional support options. “I’m so excited about the integration of Intercom into jmc,” says Eric Padget, head of client services. “Imagine needing help in an application and having the answers served up in clear, concise steps without having to leave the program—that’s what Intercom brings to jmc. It’s a huge productivity boost for our clients.”
  • Connect with users in person. This year we’ll be attending 16 trade shows in Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska, including MSBA and WASB. We’ll also be hitting the road in spring for regional workshops in select cities.
  • Celebrate our 40th birthday all year long! 2020 marks our official 40th year in business, and we couldn’t be happier or prouder. To celebrate our birthday, we’re launching a Birthday Club to help celebrate our users’ special days. Look for more details in April.
