How jmc Gives Back

November 27, 2019

With Minnesota’s Give to the Max Day just behind us and US Thanksgiving right around the corner, we’re thinking about the importance of supporting our communities.

jmc believes in giving back to the places where we live and work. Many companies are just coming around to the idea of corporate social responsibility, but that community-oriented culture has been part of our business for a long time. Over the years we’ve given over thousands in monetary and in-kind donations to organizations we support.

This month, jmc proudly funded a basketball camp for kids in the local community at Lincoln High School here in Lake City—go Tigers! jmc’s contribution helped sponsor the event and secure Christian Laettner coming to town. Your next opportunity to catch the team at home is Tuesday, December 10, or check out their schedule for away game dates.

jmc also supports the local food shelf, Lake City Education Foundation, neighboring communities, UNICEF, and the Global Partnership for Education. This year we’ve also donated to donorschoose.org, a nonprofit organization that helps support teachers and students in the classroom. In total, we’ve given to more than 26 organizations in the past 5 years alone.

This November, if you feel called to, think about how you might give of yourself. Whether you’re volunteering your time or tucking a check into the mail, the causes you support will thank you!
