Sales Specialist (Part-Time, Remote)

Turn your expertise into a new opportunity by joining the jmc team as a Sales Specialist. In this flexible, part-time role (approximately 20–30 hours per month), you’ll build relationships with schools, attend tradeshows, follow up on leads, conduct tailored product demos, and manage the sales process within your state (and potentially a neighboring state). You’ll oversee the full sales cycle—from identifying prospects and presenting solutions to negotiating and closing new business—while maintaining strong, long-term relationships with schools and districts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in education preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience working with jmc preferred.
  • Proven ability to work independently with sound judgment and strong follow-through.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for collaborating with clients, vendors, staff, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs/Sheets/Forms) and presentation tools.
  • Experience with CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or Zoho) for managing leads, forecasting, and tracking sales activity.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 25–40% of the time within the assigned territory for tradeshows, drop-ins, and school visits.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and build pipelines with schools and districts within the assigned territory.
  • Conduct discovery, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and present solutions that address school needs.
  • Manage the entire sales cycle, including proposals, contract negotiation, and closing.
  • Meet or exceed annual sales goals and contribute to quarterly pipeline targets.
  • Partner with Client Services and Training to ensure a smooth handoff and onboarding for new schools.
  • Maintain territory relationships to encourage referrals and long-term satisfaction.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform territory strategy.

Core Activities

  • Tradeshows: Prepare, staff, and follow up on regional events; conduct drop-ins before/after as appropriate.
  • Targeted drop-ins: Identify promising schools, schedule visits, and execute personalized follow-up.
  • In-person and online presentations: Coordinate logistics, deliver presentations, and drive next steps with stakeholders.

Location

jmc Inc. is based in Lake City, Minnesota. This position allows for the opportunity to work from home.
