2009-2010 GradeBook Release Notes

As new features become available for the JMC GradeBook, updates to the software will be posted on our web site. To determine whether you may want to update your GradeBook, locate the build date for your software (main screen of program) and then check below to see if a newer build is available and, if so, what new features are available in the newer build.

If a newer build is available and you wish to download the update, click on the correct link on the software download page to begin the download process.

Random Crash

This update fixes a random crashing issue on the Edit Scores screen.

Legend Explaining Some Scores

A legend explaining the scores "x", "LX", and "LI" is now included on all reports where scores are displayed.

Student List

Reorder Students

The student lists for various screens (Edit Scores, Course Grades, etc.) may be reordered by selecting the Reorder Students... option from the Options menu of the Edit Scores screen.

Mass Fill Score Note

When creating a score note, there is an option to designate that score note for the current student or for all students in the current course.

Number of Columns

The number of columns can be selected by the teacher for printing.

Reports - Multiple

Sort Order Options

Two reports, Assignment Summary and Grade Summary, have sort options that include Name or Number (pre-existing), Score - Ascending, and Score - Descending.

Calculate All Students on Edit Assessments for a Student

When adding an assessment set using the Edit Assessments for a Student screen, the teacher may select the option to create this assessment set for all students in the current course or grade level.

Scrolling bug fixed

When editing assessments on this screen, in rare cases when the list of students was quite long the lists of students and assessments got out of synchronization. This has been fixed.

Import Lesson Plans from Prior Year

IP GradeBooks only

This new screen allows a teacher to import lesson plans from the prior school year. The teacher can import text from a lesson plan from the prior year, edit the text, and then save the text for any course and/or date for the current year.

Print Progress Reports

Report Consolidation Option

When printing progress reports from the GradeBook, an option is available to consolidate these reports. If a student is receiving a progress report for more than one class from the teacher, these reports are grouped together with more than one report printed per sheet where possible. Also, the reports are printed in alphabetical order according to student name across all courses.

Option to include/exclude assignment detail

When printing this report, a new checkbox is available that governs whether the assignment detail is included.

Decimal Number Precision

Various Reports

Several reports and screens have been updated to include a higher degree of precision to the decimal numbers being displayed. This includes the Edit Scores screen as well as the following reports: Print Progress Reports, Student Summary, Assignment Summary, and Scores Grid.

Less prompting for initial set

In some cases, extra prompts were being displayed that suggested how to create an initial set of assessments. This has been fixed.

The online software now caches the test scores, allowing the GradeBook to more efficiently access the test score data.
